Your family, fully supported, every step of the way.
For 25 years and 400+ births, I've helped families feel seen, prepared, and supported.
“I interviewed 8 different doulas, and within minutes of meeting Amethyst I knew she was the right match for our family. She's in the thick of it with you, and she won't leave your side. She's so informed, so well-read, and very respected in this field. She's truly an expert.” - Jessica
Overnight Newborn Support
Practical, loving help in those first tender weeks, a stretch of time our culture tends to overlook right when families need the most reinforcement. Every family's needs look different, so my first job is always figuring out what yours are, then building a realistic plan around them. Life with a newborn is beautiful and also exhausting. Overnight support is not a luxury, it is one of the most valuable investments a new family can make.
I arrive in the evening and stay through the night, typically 9pm to 7am, so you can get real, restorative sleep. If you are bottle feeding, I handle every feed, diaper change, burp, and resettle while you sleep straight through. If you are nursing, I bring your baby to you when it is time to feed, support latch and positioning, then take over burping, changing, and settling so you can go right back to sleep. You wake to a full log of feeds, diapers, and sleep stretches. While your baby sleeps, I quietly take care of the small things that make mornings easier: baby's laundry (when there's a washer and dryer in the unit), bottles and pump parts washed and sterilized, the dishwasher loaded or unloaded, counters wiped down, and all baby items restocked and ready to go before I leave. You start the day rested and set up.
Newborn care guidance: soothing, infant massage techniques, diapering, and learning to read your baby's cues
Care for your own recovery and healing, body and heart, after a vaginal or cesarean birth
Emotional support and a steady, judgment-free presence for both parents
Gentle guidance on sleep rhythms and finding your footing as a family
Referrals to trusted outside providers if needed
Starting with 10 nights, I will help you land softly during those first intense nights home while the birthing parent is recovering and feeding is getting established. With consistent nights together, I can help support your baby’s healthy sleep rhythms, carries you through transitions like a partner's return to work.
I’m happy to support clients using their Carrot, Maven wallet or Progyny work benefits. Eligible services may be paid for using pre-tax HSA/FSA funds.
Payment plans and limited sliding scale pricing available for BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ and single parents.
Meet Amethyst
💗 The best part of my life. My girl, Aura. 💗
For 25 years, I have supported families, from pregnancy through high school graduations and everything in between. Whether it be as a nanny, household manager, or doula, family care has been my lifelong passion. Today, I am a dual-certified labor and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and newborn care specialist.
I have experience supporting all kinds of birthing people with all kinds of birth plans, whether that's VBAC, VBA2C, C-section, twins, single parents, LGBTQIA2S+ families, home births and surrogacy births. More than anything, I want to help you have the most positive birth and postpartum experience possible.
I love being known as the person in your phone you can call anytime, about anything. I will laugh with you, listen with compassion, encourage you, and believe in you.
Becoming a mom to my own daughter, now two, deepened everything I understand about this work. Outside of my work life, I'm happiest outside: hiking, biking, or dancing salsa.
